Savage Struggle for Peleliu

There are those who say the battle for Peleliu shouldn't have been fought and we should have bypassed the island. I lean towards the battle was needed, even though it cost us dearly.

Sometimes I wonder why we didn't just let all the islands rot the Japanese away? Once Midway was over we commanded the seas. But that's the Itty bitty peace in in me.
