Good Move ! I'm not against technology but first learn basic skills and books are a great tool ! Learn to read and write to include cursive writing. When electronic devices fail then what ? In meetings I still take handwritten notes then go to the computer to compose My reports in a more complete format. I also can sign My name, I'm not so sure many now will even have that basic skill. Listen to the teacher and take notes, supplement that by reading the textbooks. One of many good reasons We are no longer the leaders in education even though We once were.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m constantly reminding my grandsons that they have the most powerful computer available to them in their head. I do love search engines, though.

MCPO Roger Collins - I certainly agree, get the basic skills first then expand into information sources available through technology. I feel I learned the basics first then as other things advanced did take advantage of that. As a supplement to basic learning and knowledge, not a replacement then adding to that seems to work best. In hte end it seems then You are a more rounded and properly informed Individual.

MCPO Roger Collins - BTW 1/2 of our genes are devoted to the form and function of the Brain. it process more data than all electronic data in a 24 hr. period. And it is the human brain that creates the tools we use inc. computers.

about damn time. Electronics are a distraction and are an expensive substitute for paper. I know textbooks are expensive and heavy, but we lived through it.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard - And by extension, so do we as they are the future. In healthcare, we are now converted to digital units via EHR's which are not secure, and most physician I know loathe them.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard - I hope not. As a species we our a work in process w/ progressions, regressions, and homeostasis.
