Throwing rocks certainly sound silly, but there are no rules in a fight. Pick up whatever you can and use it as a weapon. A well placed rock would certainly distract a shooter and possibly break something. Now imagine 100 rocks, or even 500 rocks being thrown at you, you'd run away. Every little bit counts.
