Not spending $5 billion on a worthless wall is not "abandoning national security." There are many other means to improve our immigration system than throwing away $5 billion on a pipe dream.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - You make some good arguments, but I disagree. For one thing, what construction company in American makes anything that will last 25 years? Another point, any thing a man can make, another man can find a way around.
Why not some high-tech and rapid deployment teams? Drones are far cheaper that a $20 billion wall.

Thank you for your opinion. I just don't agree.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - I just used the idea of drones for example. They can be used in some areas. There are also other types of hi-tech which could be employed. A wall is not the answer. It can be gone around, under, and over. It will not stop in inflow of drugs one iota. It will not stop an person determined to get in. Do you believe a person determined enough to walk a thousand miles to get to the border is going to be stopped by a simple wall? I don't.

MAJ Montgomery Granger Thanks for that share. The comments already posted show how contentious this issue is. If the shutdown goes on any length of time it will only get worse. Flint and Steel coming together.

A wall might not stop all illegal border crossings but it will slow them down!

How are the walls working on your house/apartment? If you were missing one would you want to fix that situation? Wouldn't that be a priority for you?
