The Ford class is going to be the last class of supercarriers as we know them now. Once unmanned drones replace manned vehicles, the ships will shrink dramatically. Having said that, I had to chuckle at 'Sea Monsters'. Carriers are actually pretty small in the world of big ships. Most VLCC's are 2, 3, 4 times their size by deadweight tonnage, and ULCCs will DWARF them, make them look like a toy in a bath tub. Hell that ore carrier that sank last week was 3x the size of one.

We went on a Disney cruise last year and the Disney Fantasy we sailed on was 1,115 feet. I understand there are other even larger cruise ships.

CPT Jack Durish - She's got about 30k tons on a carrier. And yep, there's bigger ones. Though you wouldn't catch me on those sardine cans.

LTC (Join to see) SN Greg Wright Royal Caribbean's Oasis class ships are monstrosities as well. Not just in their size but in the amount of waste they produce.

Yeah those are 2.5 times bigger than a carrier. Nearly the same size as that ore carrier.

The CV club is quite exclusive - a status symbol for many nations. Including the various "helicopter carriers" and "amphibious helicopter decks" there are only about 14 nations. They being: Australia, Brazil, the People's Republic of China, Egypt, France, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. Turkey will likely be admitted next, and Argentina remains a has been and likely "wanna be".
