Stupidity never stops regardless of opportunity given. Maybe the service academies should cease recruiting student athletes and go back to their core of educating future officers first and foremost. Back to the basics for the service academies.

Universities exist to educate
While physical fitness is a core part of overall well being, and to be exemplified, athletic recruiting for only athletics is despicable

I do agree it seems something has run afoul at USAFA in vetting cadet candidates and their athletic recruiting however I feel this may point to a larger problem of finding qualified applicants within a degrading society. Just one example is the ever growing population addicted to drugs.
