I understand the reasoning. Shortening the logistical tail is vital. One work around might be to go with light tanks, like an upturned LAV variant. Point is that when you need a heavy fire system having to request one can be a deadly time user.

From what I understand they will be used where the NAVY can provide support as well as Air.
I think ablity to get the force to the fight is the real issue, even light armor is a PITA to move into remote areas
