I wonder if they can do this in light of the special counsel's appointment. I'm all for it happening, I'd like for all of Comey's notes to be disclosed, starting from the time he first started taking notes as a federal employee, but I think the special counsel might have the first crack at them.

They are separate investigations and can run at the same time. The Special Prosecutor is conducting a Criminal Investigation, while the Senate and House Committees are ostensibly conducting investigations into Foreign Espionage. Any criminal findings by the Congress are sent to the Justice Department for action through the Court System. While the Congress has direct authority to punish foreign governments. FYI: Congress can do things like declare War, stop giving financial aid, or create an embargo, etc.

MSgt James Mullis - Man, I wish Congress would start holding people and entities financially accountable and start withholding funds.

They'd have to hold themselves accountable. Good luck with that!

If the Democrats and RINOs get what they want and an impeachment moves forward and, by some corrupt intervention, succeeds, that its going to be the catalyst for bad things. Not only does it set a bad precedent, it will also cause an already boiling pot to spill over and it wouldn't surprise me if we saw bloodshed.

The only way Trump can be impeached is by a vote by a repub majority House. And the only way he could be convicted is by a 2/3 vote of a Repub majority Senate. So if it were to happen, you couldn't blame the democrats. It could only happen if the evidence was so conclusive that Trump's own party decided he was unfit to be president.

The best the Dems and Rino's can hope for is two years of Anti-Trump Sound and Fury followed by a moderately successful mid term election. It is possible, however unlikely, that Director Comey's CYA letters might be used against him or one of the other Primary's in the case. Anyone who has testified before Congress or been interviewed by the FBI on these issues is at risk. What I think is likely to occur is that one or more low level Obama, Trump, or Clinton employees will be caught in a small lie and be sent to jail for six months.

Typical thugs response: threaten violence if the law is enforced.

SSG (Join to see) What does "corrupt intervention" look like? If it is done via normal procedure it would be a completely valid and constitutional execution of Congressional power, no?

Not that I'm jumping up and down about the thought of President Pence, but I do believe he is more even keeled.
