So for all that, this dickhead gets off with a DD and reduction in rank? I can't tell you how many Soldiers I've seen get so much more for so much less, and I think this sends a pretty poor message to those who are serving honorably. Abandoning his post, endangering lives of several Service Members, and the punishment he gets is only slightly worse than someone who popped hot three times at a unit drug test? Disgraceful.

I personally have seen lesser crimes get more time at Leavenworth SGT (Join to see) just for having drugs in the barracks (back in my day 1975 to 1980). He got off relatively easy in my opinion. Very disappointing - just my 2 cents Scott!

I agree with the Col. he should had gone to prison so he might ponder on why he left his post without permission, and for endangering his unit when looking for him! There is not acceptable to desert his unit. Now he can possibly get VA benefits for his time spent incarcerated.
