XVIII Airborne Corps has us hot on readiness. Its the new way we do business. AFORGEN is long gone and the sustained readiness model is I full effect and has 1SGs knee deep in MEDPROS lol. One thing that would help me is stopping 3B (non-deployable) Soldiers coming out of AIT. Soldiers are coming off profile long enough to PCS from AIT and going to sick call during their week one of in processing before the unit gets them. This goes back to changing mindsets. Why are officers not having this issue and it's so bad in the enlisted world? What gives officers the want and will to be the best and lots of young Soldiers put more effort into finding a way out of work?

That is the new generation, the only time I ever went to sick call was when I was forced after cracking my vertebrae and still finishing a 20 mile road march

I know your type SGT. While inspiration to others you have to take care of number one also. We need troops for the long war not just a battle. By all means take care of yourselves but don't ride the profiles.

The Army has changed in 5 years since I got out, when I came in it was BDUS and spit shined boots, I was getting out in 2010 right when everything was changing...I actually preferred the Army back when I got in. It's pretty sad that I can say 2003 was the old Army
