This may be the dumbest of all the anti-Obama spam posted on this site. The UN Secretary General is nominated by the UN Security Council. The Security Council is prohibited from nominating someone from one of the five permanent members ( US, UK, Russia, China France). Plus, any permanent security council country can veto any nominee. So even if a US president could be nominated (and he can't) does anyone think Russia and China wouldn't veto him?

MSG Ramon Hidalgo-Acosta - look at it this way. The security council nominates the candidate. Before it goes to a vote, any member of the permanent five can veto it. So even in the bizarre hypothetical situation where President Obama renounces his citizenship, do you think it likely that neither China, R ussia, France , the UK or US would veto that nomination? Do you believe Putin would allow President Obama to become Sec Gen just because he now claims to be a Kenyan citizen? Or even that K enya would allow him to represent their country rather than a true Kenyan?
Plus, that entire scenario is crazy. As a former UN Secretary General said, to paraphrase, " I have no power to do anything. I have no money, I have no Army. I cannot tell the General Assembly what to do. ". The fact is that the Sec Gen position is pretty much a ceremonial post that has no power to influence anything. The nominees are selected as a compromise candidate that all five permanent members feel will stay out of their way. As one diplomat put it "we look at it as much more Secretary than General".

Capt Walter Miller
It would appear now by his endorsement of the "worst person on the planet" Hillary Clinton that he wants to start ringing the cash register on a big scale the same way she has done. Stand by for the Obama Global Foundation.

You do realize that he won't be in office this time next year, right? Talk about keeping the fear machine rolling...
