Apparently it was a false alarm. someone thought they heard heard gun shots and made a report. there was no evidence to suggest a real active shooter but the base is investigating what the made the sound.

it was on Airforce times and Navy times
Sad to see this type of thing happening.....again. Part of the problem is that while Military Bases are "secure", they are also SOFT TARGETS..... they are effectively a "gun free zone" or as I call them "Victim Zone". DoD needs to authorize any military member that has a legally issued concealed carry permit to carry while on duty. Medical Centers are becoming more and more, the target. Authorizing medical staff to carry is NOT against Geneva Convention in a combat theater.....why is the USA so against staff from having the option of self protection??!!

Actually sir, that has changed. You have to have your weapon cheeked before you can bee seen and the medical staff does not carry. Only on small Outpost, KOP's and SOF VSP'S will they have weapons and that is because they are small compounds and the enemy is right next door. This changed because they had several problems in Iraq around 2009 guys were having problems and went into facility and started shooting it up. So you can not have weapons in them.
