I was not too happy about this. It could have worked. This was Biden being much, much too cautious.

Ukrainian pilots could have picked them up and flown them back to bases in Ukraine. If they immediately were destroyed, well not much we can do about that. Russia would have taken on NATO over 30 some fighters. The Javelins and Stingers are much more of a threat to them.
