Some Canadian indigenous tribes were wiped out similar to the way it was in the American West as in this case in The Maritime Provinces of Northeastern Canada. Native Canadians have had cultural genocide in other ways they were forced to go to residential schools and be taken away from their parents by the police and social workers and where they were prohibited from speaking their language. The boys hair was cut and they were prohibited from seeing their parents for four or five years or more. Many were sexually abused and many were buried in unmarked Graves. The first school started in the 1870s and continued until about 1980. The last residential school was closed in 1996. Before the early 70s, native Canadians could not leave the Indian reserve assigned to them unless they were escorted. There are still a lot of post-traumatic stress disorder along with drug and alcohol abuse caused by this forced schooling which was trying to take the Indian out of the boy and girl. Hopefully the service members will not be able to re-enlist. My wife experiences racism on a daily basis in the supposedly friendly Canada. When she comes to United States everybody thinks she is Hispanic and she is treated with respect.

Thanks LTC Stephen Conway for keeping us informed on what takes place above the northern border of the USA.
If they were in uniform I could see why this might be an infraction.
However they are mufti and as indigenous service members I think they should be able to voice their opinions about the way their forefathers and mothers were treated.
"The five men who crashed an Indigenous ceremony in Halifax over the weekend, identifying themselves with a “Western chauvinist” fraternity, are members of the Canadian Armed Forces and could face discipline as a result of their actions.
The Department of National Defence confirmed to VICE News on Tuesday that all five of the self-styled “Proud Boys” are enlisted in the Canadian Forces. Four are in the navy, and one is enlisted in the army. As of Tuesday afternoon, a sixth member of the Canadian Armed Forces is now facing disciplinary action in connection to the protest, although it remains unclear as to how they are connected."
The five showed up to a Halifax park on Canada Day, waving an early variant of the Canadian flag, with the aim of interrupting a ceremony being held at a statue of Edward Cornwallis — the military officer who founded Halifax, but who also ordered the killings of the area’s Indigenous people.
The five say they are part of the “Proud Boys,” a small group started by far-right commentator Gavin McInnes, expressly for males who consider themselves “Western chauvinism” — a blend of sexist and white nationalist themes that have become central to the alt-right. (McInnes co-founded VICE; he and the company severed all ties in 2008.)
They say they were there to protest the ceremony, calling it “disrespectful” to the long-dead military officer. The official Proud Boys Canada page calls the general a “hero.”
The five left after roughly ten minutes, without incident, after being confronted by the larger crowd at the the statue.

The Canadian military chief of staff is not going to tolerate it and they're going to be out pretty soon as soon as the due process is complete. Hopefully their UCMJ is quick as well especially if it's being handed down by a four-star general.
