SSG Robert Mark Odom I think I've read somewhere Women are More Likely to "Attempt" Suicide and Men are More Likely to Succeed at Suicide. Men usually use More Violent Methods to Commit Suicide. If I had to guess in Relation to this. Most Sailor and Airmen are not Armed in their Duties while Marines and Soldiers their Marksmanship is a Significant Part of their Service. Just a Thought.

There is some truth in this. I believe that a major factor is the stigma surrounding mental health and asking for help. Service members and really, everyone, need to know that they can reach out and ask for help without fear of repercussions from command. I know when I served, going to sick call was frowned upon, it was the suck it up and continue attitude.
