But ... but... but... She's not allowed "To take the law into her own hands". She has to submit to any criminal assault, then report it to the police. Assuming of course, that she's still alive.

That’s ludicrous! She has the Right to protect herself! Even a can of pepper spray would have possibly been a way to protect herself! They also make these keychains which, when the ring is pulled, send out an ear-piercing sound which could have helped her!

SPC Nancy Greene - Of course it's ludicrous. Nevertheless I have heard many TV reporters (some of them women) describe clear-cut cases of self-defense as the victim "taking the law into his own hands", as if self-defense was another way to say "vigilante".

CW3 Harvey K. - True. It is truly amazing. There are too many TV reporters and journalist that accuse the victim. It is a brain numbing.
