Many people work into retirement not just because they need the money but because they enjoy working. I sort of do that but I am an unpaid volunteer. My "work" gives my life meaning at this point and serves me well. If I needed to add to my retirement "stash" with additional funds I would work for pay. How much you need also depends on where you live. One million won't do it in SF or many places in California but in smaller towns, that's a lot of money. If you grow some of your own vegetables (many like to garden) that impacts things as well. There just is no "one size fits all"

I garden for fun, still work some as a DOD Contractor, do a lot with VFW post, plus on forty acres something always needs to be done. I sometimes find time to take bird pictures! Cynthia Croft,Lt Col Charlie Brown
