The Sioux tribe in South Dakota has established checkpoints to keep the COVID-19 virus out of their reservation. The governor doesn't like that, and is threatening the tribe.

Local news just announced this morning that the state is taking the matter to court. The state claims the tribes did not get "appropriate" approval from the state.

The state's approval isn't required by the treaty, and the BIA letter said "consultation". Consultation means that the tribe had to discuss it with the State, which they did.
