Perolio’s team was engaged by heavy machine-gun fire from enemy fighters, injuring three members, including Capt. William Clark, the ground force commander, Jan 11, 2018. Perolio returned fire and controlled precision airstrikes to help his team escape the kill zone and evacuate wounded team members.
