Start with the Map

Pretty good advice actually. When I wrote my book about Cuba, a place where I had never been, I studied maps, satellite images, videos, and cruising guided. Fortunately, I have been a navigator from my youth and can easily see see these as real places. It helped me add reality to my story

Never looked at it that way. Used to write a lot, might give this a try.
