Being from the country, I don't see how people can live in those high rise apartment buildings but to each his own.

I really don’t See this as a big problem. Tastes change and what people want change. We have Gentrification going on because younger couples detest the commute to the suburbs. The cost of single family homes will come down and size will decrease due to cost. We do not live as formally as we used to so living rooms and dining rooms will be gone. Etc.

I moved to rural America. Plenty of cheap land here, all within commuting distance of urban and suburban sprawl. This is especially true now that America has learned to "commute on line." Thus, I'm not terribly sympathetic with those who want to move every one into cattle pens (high rises) where citizens can be turned into subjects more easily (with HOA's as tyrannical as any bureaucracy).
