PO1 William "Chip" Nagel For some Americans, St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) isn’t much more than a fine excuse to imbibe liberally on a school night.

I've been using it to teach the youngins their Irish heritage; none of which involves drinking.

If you're leaving drinking out then they are missing a part of the heritage. Guinness, originally a breakfast beverage. It doesn't taste better at the brewery, but it does taste a million percent better at the Fox & Hound Pub in Ireland. Irish Whiskey is far superior to Scotch Whisky. Yes, there are a few Scotch distillers I like, but there are far more Irish ones that I love. You don't have to get wasted to learn about a part of heritage that has to do with adult beverages. It is honestly a very important part of Irish heritage.

SGT Cody Skinner Tea is arguably as important if not more so. They beat the British in tea consumption for a number of years now.
I fully intend to introduce them to alcohol; just not right now as far as taste goes.
