There is a lot to be said about sanctuary cities and how well it works. It doesn't! The Feds ought to start withholding funds if they havent done so already.

Allegedly the Sheriffs Office only had given ICE 16 minutes warning. In the jurisdiction that I worked in if you put a hold on a prisoner you would have to back it up with paperwork (arrest warrant or teletype message from another agency stating that they would be on the way to get the prisoner) . If you requested that you be notified before the prisoner was released the detention center would call you as soon as they had word that the prisoner would be released. It sounds like a SNAFU between the Sheriffs office and ICE. Someone is going to catch holy hell for this.
