Smart store owner, probably felt things weren't on the up and up.

He was planning his attack within an hour and a half, before he stopped to buy the .45. He probably was acting suspiciously and may have even been sweating profusely. Anyway, the shop owner did the right thing, SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth.

He came here as a child with his Mom. He had mental health issues, but was there a report of connection to jihadist ideology?

Col Rebecca Lorraine - I don't remember hearing about a connection. I think he was mental enough to want to kill someone.

PO1 Kerry French - I thought he was a citizen. By homegrown, I mean he lived in the U.S. Thanks for the correction.

He had actually been unable to buy a handgun because of a suicide attempt in the past. There are also Christian Turks, and this "muzzy" comments and other religious slurs are not helpful. To make them all villains is ludicrous and small. Because you fear what you simply don't understand. There are many trying to take down the radicals, but religious bigotry is unamerican. Instead of the name calling, think about what you say. There are many warriors who fight this fight and die beside us, and they are Muslim. We share the world with many we don't understand, but that's a wonderful thing. Not all of them are good. But God put them here and they have rights as humans. The bad ones will find their end.
