I have been informed that the "Choice" program so far has not been helpful, and seen it with my own eyes. Hopefully this works better.
I read through most of the article and this continues to bring me to the thinking that it might be less expensive and easier to make VA services something like a single payer health care system with at most primary care services in the VA only. The biggest issue with the VA, or any government entity, is the fact that you have three beaurocrats doing paperwork per doctor or nurse, continually increasing costs and slowing the access to care.

I feel very fortunate as my VA Hospital is 5 miles from me, and I receive excellent care. It is also my opinion the VA should push harder to provide for caregivers who stay home to take care of their spouses.
