We really need to start taking Syria seriously. There are too many proxy actors involved and sooner or later this is going to turn into to confrontation that will refuse to be contained.
LTC Eric Udouj - thanks for the information. You continue to be one of the few people who actually contribute news worth reading.

The last US administration involved themselves in a civil war in Syria. Causing the death and displacement of millions. Who is bad? What is the end goal of supporting the Sunni''s in Syria? The Shia are being supported in Iraq.
It appears, we are involved in a religious war. Is this in America's interest?

PO1 Kerry French - Nice thought Sir. But, I think the agenda involved money and resources. Not ideology.
Have a great day,

"Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu announced the deployment of a battalion of Russian Military Police to “maintain order” in Aleppo City"
I'll have to admit I haven't kept up with the tactical situation on the ground. I thought Aleppo was still a contended territory. From looking at the map it looks like Assad & the Russians were concentrating on securing the northwest province (Idlib) rather than focusing on Daesh. I take it with the ceasefire maybe they will work together to fight ISIS maybe?

Idilib is a hard nut to crack - last real tries depleted the Syrian Army of armor in quick secession because both the FSA and AQ have strong anti-armor capabilities. They may well try to retake IS gains from the recent offensive that caught the Iranians and Russians flank and unprepared. Problem for Assad is he does not have enough forces to secure and to attack when have 4 different fronts - need a cease fire to allow for resources to be gathered.
