I once had a night supervisor who was from Turkey. He said that the border with Syria and turkey is just an artificial line just like the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The tribes or Affiliated Clans are on both sides of the demarcation line. Turkey has a vested interest in this that goes back to the Ottoman Empire. This is one messed-up situation.
