Also the legitimate government of China that was overthrown by the Communist fled to the Formosa, (Taiwan). The Communist rose up against the Chinese Government and seized power. They took advantage of postwar China trying to recover from WWII and instead of helping hurt the country.

A nation isn't a nation until other nations acknowledge it to be a nation. Sadly, that acknowledgment won't come to Taiwan so long as everyone is afraid of bucking China.

Yes even the United States was stopped from recognizing China back then I believe it was president Ronald Reagan and Bush senior who were trying to normalize relations with Taiwan and it was revisited again by Obama but the international community for varying reason chose not to recognize Taiwan or didn't have an opinion.
