This is the kind of shit that is going to keep us there indefinitely. They aren't going to quit, and the Afghan security forces are incompetent, corrupt, and completely incapable of going in and digging up these people's safe havens by the roots.

LTC (Join to see) - It occurs to me that the Afghan government profits greatly from international money paying their bills and international militaries fighting their battles. Why would they ever want us to leave?
They don't.

LTC (Join to see) - Reconstruction/ international aid money is the second largest source of revenue in Afghanistan, behind narcotics. If you want to know how to understand Afghanistan's systems of political and economic workings, follow that money around the system and watch where it ends up. That answer will not motivate you that we are on the right track there.

George Santayana was right. Learn from the past. Wipe out any nest of vipers that threaten us and leave them live their lives up to them.

The enemy is desperate and it does not help that the Afghan Government is divided and having infighting making it harder to address the problem.
