Talk about negligence. MacArthur pretty much sent them to Korea as a show of force with his "arrogant display of strength” statement. You would think that after WW2 there would've been some sort of intel on the capabilities of the T-34-85 tanks. Deploying soldiers to a hot zone with old ammunition and salvaged equipment is criminal. Although as much as the Army professes to never repeat these mistakes I can't help but remember Rumsfeld's comment - "You go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you might want, or wish to have, at a later time."
