Not everyone in California is against Vietnam Vets. Some of your greatest supporters are here in California. I'm one of them. Stereotyping Californians is wrong.

PO1 Robert Teague I agree stereotyping isnt good. I was speaking on average and said San Francisco right after Vietnam. So I tried to limit and speak about where and when I was there.

We can file this one under "good initiative, bad judgment". He was essentially stealing from his employer. The food is not his to give. He could have gone to this employer and tried to work on a program to provide free food to veterans. There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. Stealing to give something to someone else is still stealing.

PO2 Mark Saffell I think that is a false choice. What he could have done was go to his boss/manager and ask for permission to give the food to the veteran(s). He could have made the case and might have gained support. He had another option too. He could have paid the .99 per taco and given them to him. Once he buys them, they are his to do with whatever he likes.

Granted he didnt do things all correctly, but they could have asked him to pay the .99 cents and said dont do that again. He stated that these two Taco's where headed to the trash so that part was in the story. I hate to see them trashed rather than given away. We both know places trash food all of the time.

If he was paying for the food out of his pocket, I'd picket the business, if not I'd see that he was offered a job at a better place.
