Stephen Harper was the Prime Minister before the Trudeau took over. Some Economists working for Bernie Sanders were supporting Venezuela but now even they are baffled on how bad this Socialist failure state is now going down a rabbit hole. Now Venezuela is falling apart financially, Democratically and socially as a million people + flee the broke country and overwhelm their neighbors. Venezuela has a huge oil industry but they are still broke. Socialism and corruption, nationalization and no democracy often leads to disaster.
