"Burst of Joy" 1973 hits home with me. I was on active duty when the View Nam POWs came home. My wife knew POW wives who were waiting for news. Some didn't ever hear their husband's name announced. Bud Day spoke at a dining out I attended at Langley AFB. In 1974, I was TDY to Randolph AFB, TX, for Pilot Instructor Training. The guy in the BOQ room next to me was a returned POW who was going though pilot requalification.

What's even more iconic (and ironic) about the Burst of Joy, 1973 pic is that while he was prisoner, his wife fell for another guy and a day after this pic was taken, she presented her husband with divorce papers.
