SPC Lyle Montgomery - It's called an inter-service tease. I can tease you. You can tease me. But I will never let an outsider tease you.

The Army do something intelligent? My last Army range they issued all the optics to the jr enlisted and I had to shoot iron sights. I hit 33/40 on a pop-ups and would have done better had my distance lever not been switched to 400. I am pretty certain I missed the 300 because I learned decades ago to aim a bit higher and I am pretty certain on that day because of the lever I missed high. They probably should have had me on the optics since I understand iron sights and taught them iron sights. Oh did I mention hospital unit...

If you know how to shoot iron sights, going to red dot and/or scope is extremely easy. It's those that never learned iron sights that will be hurting when the tech breaks and you need it most...
Good shooting sir!

.... oxymoron... this is not gonna me jack squat when the optic fails... we lost shooting fundamentals when we changed to COIN and then gave everyone a red dot optic. Need to go back to iron sight qualifying before we qualify on any optic. I run ranges all the time instruct remedial BRM ; our issue is at the core of BRM..

This technology is like the GPS technologt. If the battery goes dead, Youre screwed. A lot of people don't know how to use a compass or topographical maps anymore.
