Having had my bit of fun with my initial post, I found this of particular interest:
[begin quote]
Numerous reports have linked older fatherhood with an increased risk of autism, psychiatric illness, neurologic disease such as neurofibromatosis, pediatric cancer and chromosomal abnormalities in children.
"As such, these trends may suggest that we should be seeing more of these occur in children over time," he said.
[end quote]
Since the article notes that the average age of women, while younger, having children is closing in on the average age of men, I wonder how they differentiate the older fatherhood from the older motherhood in assigning responsibility for the increased risk of autism, psychiatric illness, neurologic disease, etc?

Well ... I'm a pretty much average dad ... and I sure as hell am getting older. Glad the study supports my observation! :-)

MSgt Heather D. - My better half stalled at about the same age ... but still gets mad if I forget her "non-birthday." Not fair! ;-)
