Great history share, lost some of its meaning over the years but still a great honor.

It was retired after the Kaiser abdicated, but it was revived as a civilian award. Any medal awarded to Göring would tarnished its luster. @Christensen LTC Stephen C.

SGT (Join to see), I must agree with Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen. I never even knew what the Blue Max was until I saw the 1966 movie, The Blue Max.
“The Blue Max is a 1966 British war film in DeLuxe Color and filmed in CinemaScope, about a German fighter pilot on the Western Front during World War I. It was directed by John Guillermin, and stars George Peppard, James Mason and Ursula Andress [aka Undressed].”
