I agree with completing the mission. Then all who made the ultimate sacrifice will be honored.

I am for it sooner rather than later because we do not know when (or if) it will ever end. There will always be those who seek to destroy our way of life, and most likely these days it will be attempted through terrorism or some rogue nation state. It shouldn't matter if it is still ongoing, we can always add names.
An example would be the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in D.C. Any time a law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty, their name is added. The same could be done for the war on terror.

CW3 (Join to see) I like that idea, but hope that it would not be added to very often.

Agreed. However, I'm split too. The war on terror will likely never end. That being said, we could break ground on it since the Obama administration changed the wording from war on terror to overseas contingency operations. Thoughts?

MSgt Jason McClish It is a flawed concept. It is virtually impossible to wage a successful war on an action. Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist. The guy who shot up the Aurora CO Cinema (sorry never bothered with that fucktard's name) was a terrorist. Neither were religious extremists. Both used different means of attack. Bombs, Guns, Planes, Cars, Knives all have been weapons used by terrorists to enact their actions. Politics, Religion, Mental Defect, Perceived wrong, Race all have been reasons for terrorism. So that being said, I would agree that a War on Terror will not ever end. We can however set a clear objective for ending the current hostilities which began after the World Trade Center attacks in 2001, and have been going on ever since. Originally it was the capture and or killing of Osama Bin Laden and elimination of Al Queda in Afghanistan that was the publicly stated objective. ISIS rose from the remains of that, and now we are dealing with them. That is of course way over simplified, but the gist of it is that there will always be terror groups.

Yeah, I understand your viewpoints, it would be hard to really quantify everything. At least with the OKC event, there is already an outstanding memorial there, one I recommend visiting if you haven't done so already. Other events don't yet have one and should. I suppose each site could have one, but a national one would be great if we could all come to an agreement on the specifics.
