Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs I hope your pre-spring weather is settling down.
One of our most basic needs is to be understood. Sometimes we forget that others need that as well. We listen but we don't listen to understand. We listen to respond. When we do that, we surrender our opportunity to make a real connection. Perhaps if those in charge worked harder to understand we would get more accomplished.
Where would listening to understand help you to work on improving your connection and making yourself understood?

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Good evening Charlie - you've got a great response that hits the target. You really have to understand those around you, those you work , those you work for, in order to be understood yourself - it's a two way street, you must be an effective listener and effective at communication (and checking to see if the message has be received properly). You and Tom have a great Thursday evening. I sepnd the morning moving this 6 foot drift and one right behind it off the drive this entire morning right up until afternoon. Hopefully, this is it for the year, but never count on it here in Colorado - I've seen snow right up until May!

COL Mikel J. Burroughs that's a lot of snow. Hopefully you didn't have to shovel it all.

I pray that you and I understand the needs and desires of those closest to us and that we let them know how much they mean to us, my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown
LORD YOU know each of us better than anybody else could possibly do. I pray that YOU reveal to each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters how to better understand the needs, dreams, and desires our spouse and other who love us. Enable us to understand others better and focus on being servant-leaders.
Help us to focus on others, my God.

If you don't understand it's hard to be understood.

Good Morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs !
Job 28:28
28 And he said to the human race,
“The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom,
and to shun evil is understanding.”
Job 12:12
12 Is not wisdom found among the aged?
Does not long life bring understanding?
Guess I am feeling my age this morning!
Have a Bessed day my RP friends!!!

We used to live in Conifer, CO. I do not miss the blizzards and cold. 60 inches on Christmas of 1982. The snow was so deep that it buried my Chevette. I do miss the starry nights and and the smell of pines on the spring breeze. I know it isn't a verse but maybe a good memory will help out. Have a Blessed evening sir!
