School systems have been battling this controversy for years. The really distressing thing is that many of those choosing not to vaccinate are well-educated, and many are nurses and/or EMT's, with a few doctors thrown in. They are willing to take the chance that THEIR child is 1) not going to be exposed to whatever disease they are not vaccinated for, and 2) THEIR child will not contaminate OTHER children. They absolutely can make decisions about their children, but they do not have the right to threaten the health of other children. Even those who get vaccinated can get milder cases of illnesses, which could still be deadly to a child with a weak/compromised immune system.

SFC (Join to see) - Thank you, SSG Fleming. It's a topic of interest for me. My wife worked in a school system in the Special Education department for 25 years and my Masters is in Special Education. I know many special needs children have multiple health issues from the start, and some disorders include a weakened immune system as a component.. Several years ago, the school lost a special needs child to mumps because the parents refused to have her vaccinated for anything. Their older son brought it home from college when that school had a number of students with mumps.

I am interested in the topic of public school systems allowing unvaccinated illegals into the system. They won't even enforce it. As a parent you have no rights in the matter.
They won't let YOUR children attend the school without being vaccinated but the illegals have more rights than you do.
This isn't about bashing the illegals.
Yet there are resurgence of diseases which have been eradicated in the United States for many years.
Diseases from other parts of the world that our population has no well developed immunities for and infectious illnesses that aren't readily recognized by American doctors are a huge threat.
Yet these extremely unaccountable and powerful public institutions are making these decisions with absolutely no impunity and are not held accountable by the government.
How simple is this outrage to comprehend. Once again. The school system WILL refuse your child admittance if not vaccinated but state laws force them to accept illegals who have absolutely no medical records at all.
They won't let YOUR children attend the school without being vaccinated but the illegals have more rights than you do.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I just watched Law and Order SUV last night and it just happened to be about a little one year old girl who died of the measles... She contracted it from the park from a little boy who was never vaccinated....UNFORTUNATELY with measles....in it's incubation period, you won't know your child has it and can spread it for a few days before knowing...how is this FAIR to little babies and children who are not old enough yet to get vaccinated? I find this MURDER in the 2nd degree....the mother of this little boy spreading measles....like a weapon...should be liable/responsible if other children contract it and die. This is my two cents.
I feel children who have not been vaccinated have NO business in schools...it should be mandatory to be vaccinated to attend a public or private school.
I have often wondered why we don't give tester shots for allergic reactions? you know, like when I go to the allergist and get a million shots to find out what I'm allergic too. If we gave allergic testers first, then we would know who will have a bad reaction to it and perhaps find another way of administering the vaccine or find another way of creating an alternative vaccine.
