I can see the threat by an inside force using the excuse of outside influence as a pretext to violate the Constitution.

That's funny, the Democratic Underground quoting the NYT as if it's a legitimate news source rather than a leftwing rag. So they tried to track down someone on Facebook using their screen name and couldn't find anyone by that name? And that's news? I don't use my own name on Facebook (as a very modest attempt at maintaining some internet privacy), so anyone looking for a person with that name would likely not find anyone. It doesn't make me any less real.

Reading that sketchy description from the NYT light on details, and verifiable facts it makes me wonder is this the second effort of the same people trying to lead the charge and undermine the next 4 years?

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Depends on what you mean by credible. There isn't a single news brokerage anywhere that I would take everything they say at face value without a fact-check. The best news brokerages are open about their biases, don't selectively omit key details, and share their information sources, which allows you to check things out for yourself.

SSgt Christopher Brose - You seem to be be judging io sources on whether they agree with your poltics , For example what did the NYT get wrong with this article?

Let's take it at face value.
1. Yes hackers should be prosecuted.
1.5 That doesn't mean the DNC shouldn't be ashamed of the content of those emails and their manipulation of the primary.
2. Fake Facebook friend requests should not be accepted.
2.5 Maybe if Facebook stopped trying to be a source of news instead of a social network (example: get rid of the news feed in the right hand column) then there wouldn't be a news algorithm to worry about in the first place.
3. People need to realize sourcing is important.
