The future of the pandemic is looking clearer as we learn more about infection

During the early days of the pandemic, scientists and doctors were concerned that being infected with SARS-CoV-2 might not trigger a strong immune response in many people – thus an infection might not provide long-term protection.
"Immunity to Covid-19 could be lost in months, UK study suggests," a headline from The Guardian alerted back in July 2020. "King's College London team found steep drops in patients' antibody levels three months after infection," the story warned.
But that idea was based on preliminary data from the laboratory — and on a faulty understanding of how the immune system works. Now about a year and a half later, better data is painting a more optimistic picture about immunity after a bout of COVID-19. In fact, a symptomatic infection triggers a remarkable immune response in the general population, likely offering protection against severe disease and death for a few years.
And if you're vaccinated on top of it, your protection is likely even better, studies are consistently showing.
Here are several key questions people have been asking throughout the pandemic – and ones that researchers are beginning to answer.

But I have "natural" immunity. I'll never get Covid!!! LOL If only they knew how immunity is acquired.

I don't think I ever heard a serious epidemiologist ever suggest that natural immunity wasn't going to work or fade faster than the vaccines (Fauci IS NOT an epidemiologist). It's the way things work with other diseases, no reason to think it was going to be different. I've gotten both my shots, but to be realistic about things, almost all the information about effectiveness, etc. is coming out of the drug companies that make them, or the FDA, which is effectively the same thing. But the NPR is right about one thing, we now have the data to show just how screwed up the public health system has become.
After the recent release of the Meta Analysis of the Lockdown showing they did nothing to slow the progress, to the increasing demand to show the actual data a safety and effectiveness of the Vaccines, to the news that a Japanese pharmaceutical company has just completed stage III testing on ivermectin and found it works just like everyone has claimed, I think you are going to see a lot of people trying to cover their asses over the next year.
Then there is this, which is similar to what has been reported in the EU.
