Yes indeed, there is more PE capital flowing back into "traditional" energy these days but it is demanding positive returns via fiscal discipline so the actual rate of drilling activity is not increasing dramatically as the focused has shifted to returning that capital back to the sources (actual profit, dividends, etc.) This is a contributor to the recent price runup via limiting the growth of supply.
