Every religion (and atheism) has had its share of miscreants, and I am not sharing this to join those anti-theists who love to use every opportunity to attack religion in general. It is merely an interesting crime story complicated by the general population's predilection to view the clergy as paragons of virtue. Yes, they are supposed to lead by example, but they are only human. Therein lies the rub. When the clergy's protocols place inhuman standards on their behavior (as in vows of chastity) is it any surprise when they violate them?

Interesting. Seems we must hold the clergy to the same laws, and penalties, for their crimes. This has been anti-thema to the Catholic Church which has had a very checkered past when it comes to prosecution of clergy criminals.

Just because our religious leaders are supposed to live a life in Gods image, they are still human and susceptible to human frailties and desires. It matters not if their male or female, they are still human.
