I spent years down south. Sorry, you couldn't pay me to go back. Besides, they got no ice fishing.

I am from south of Jackson about 15 minutes and spent most of my life in Jackson for one reason or another. I remember when the Metro Center mall was built…the mall for all malls…It was beautiful and majestic…now it is a ghost town. I remember when Northpark mall came on line as Metro Center started losing business…my wife and I went to that mall when we were in Jackson after I retired and were scared to death to get out of our car…we kept driving…the whole city is run down now. I was taken over by Democratic control and run full steam ahead on into the dirt...not just recently but it started in the 90's when they actually had the tax base to fix issues Corruption, deceit, crooked politicians lining pockets, people not paying taxes, housing markets hitting the tank, people not paying bills…I used to love Jackson MS but I am not surprised to say the infrastructure is headed South literally. It is not a safe place at all…everyone I knew from my hometown has said that they are glad they aren’t in Jackson and are where they are. Most folks moved out of Jackson when property values went into the tank…especially in North Jackson…people have moved to the suburbs like Pearl, Brandon, Madison, etc to get away from the corruption and the run down city…it is a shame for the folks still there but when you vote in the clowns you can expect the entire circus and that is what has happened.
