Ironically, we refused Russia the B-29 under lend lease agreement, but they still managed to obtain them because they had not yet declared war on Japan

MAJ (Join to see) That is amazing. I knew about the Tu-95 Bear, I had no idea they had reversed engineered the B-29. More amazing to me is that they were in service in China until '88. Funny how they were our "ally" and yet when our planes were forced down, they held the crews functionally as POWs to get what they wanted. Not really ally behavior.

they reverse engineered the aircraft from the 3 that emergency landed in far east Russia they repatriated the crews back thru Iran in 1945
