Yes some brutality but Truth is usually brutal.

I have a OSC Friend who is about to retire, and he has zero skills short of being a combat coxswain. All he has ever known is the .mil world, when he applies at places he expect a huge salary and vacation package and the corner office.... I keep telling him he needs to pay his due for that and he keeps asking what's he been doing the last 20 years?

Truth is anyone who joins at the age of 18 is behind the eight ball. I see it now out in the fleet, the guys that joined young and only know the .mil life cant hang it up once it ends. I wont even get into the lack of maturity I have seen from higher enlisted (yes fart jokes get old). Seems a lot of people never mature past puberty.

I coach all my Juniors to have a plan and set themselves up for post military be it in 4 years of 24 years. I always point out that life never works out how you expect so make sure to have several back up plans too.

And somewhere, in the middle of implementing this system, take a razor blade and scrape the ERB/ORB off the back window of your minivan. Seriously, you don't need the United States Army, United States Army - Retired and United States Army Ordnance Corps stickers on there. Nor do you need the sticker signifying the fact you went to Airborne School, received a BSM and achieved the rank of SFC. Really, just let it go.

Even worse when the wannabe is obviously not qualified. Shirts that say "that's right,I'm bad" are usually sad. Emulating prisoners or Motorcycle Gangs is pathetic.
