The issue of tolerance for people of different faiths and cultures vs. intolerance for the absence of certain basic human rights is actually a matter of great debate within the left. There are some on the left who wholeheartedly condemn religious movements that restrict individual liberty, and there are those who believe that people in the west should generally allow people from other cultures to work things through on their own.
Millions marched last Sunday, those marches against Trump were perhaps the largest in our nations history... and they were peaceful. Yes, there are some Anarchists out there... about two minutes of research would show that your Anarchists are generally anti-theistic and not tolerant to any limitation of individual liberty... as are many non-Anarchist folks on the left. Cherry picking a few events here and there doesn't provide an accurate assessment of what's happening on the left. There are no monoliths, BLM for example includes activists who promote social gatherings with police and activists who are hostile to police.
