The Marine Corps' fitness test from the 1950s wasn't that hard

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. Those standards from the 50's weren't $hit! I got a 298 (out of 300) on the final boot camp physical fitness test. (Damn sit-ups!)
Max score was:
20 Pull ups (100 points)
80 sit-ups in two minutes (100 points)
3 mile run in 18 minutes or less (100 points)
I don't know for sure what the minimums were since in my mind that was not good enough anyways.
Only once did I manage to get the 300 two years later.
