Excellent article,, speaks to truth.
IMO, race has done more damage to this nation than any other issue. And, sadly, it is what will keep us divided.

Your stated premise is, well, flawed. Many will agree, slavery was only part of the reason for the Civil War, the other being states rights. Ooooh, I can hear your bristling anger now, it was all about and only about slavery. For starters, what percentage of Southerners actually owned slaves, versus the number that actually fought? Did Lee start the fight, or was the fight basically forced upon him? The strategic mistake that you claim he undertook was not necessarily something he could avoid. No, I did not read your entire article. Somewhere around four paragraphs in I could no longer entertain your opinions.

SFC William Farrell - Dumbest response you've made yet, Billie Boy. I see you're very good at assumptions, and you must meet the criteria set for those first three letters. I'm definitely a blue bellied yank, but have learned some life lessons you must have missed. As far as the South losing the war, well I would sat that they and their descendants are all still American Citizens in good standing.

SFC Don Ward - I agree with your last sentence Donny. However many of them however are still fighting the war. I have a cousin who has lived in Georgia for 40 years and she says that depending upon whose company she is in, she will not mention that she is from New York. Enlighten me on your life lessons please.

SFC William Farrell - Lived a couple years in Lubbock TX, if you are a Yank you don't mention it. Guy was acquitted because the man he shot was a yank. As far as life, learn to recognize the koolaid and who's pushing it. As a famous man once said - it ain't always the way it seems.
