Yeah first time i disassembled it and saw the Mattel name on inside of handguards I had to do a double take...and to find out yes the toy maker did make those parts....ha!

Adapting existing, proven durable, familiar tech at huge discount to military use, smart. Don’’t people know USN has used blackberry/iPhone type products on ships for years?

Makes sense considering many of the kids coming into service today are adept at game controllers. Some more so than traditional controls.
